American Girl of the Year Friend 2009 - Sonali Matthews

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! My family and I will be taking a little trip to Las Vegas, NV for my hubby and I to do our sweeps for our bowling league. I really hope I do well so I can get more AG things. LOL Yes, my bowling hobby funds my AG collecting. (^_^)

Yes, it appears GOTY 2014 Isabelle will be apart of the McDonalds Happy Meals in a few weeks! I think she's suppose to start appearing in the Happy Meals May 23rd. I really don't like to eat at McD's because it makes my stomach hurt but I'll check out if I can buy them without the Happy Meal, otherwise I think my kids will be eating them so I can get the dolls. LOL I don't know if I want ALL of them but I do want a few. (^_^)

What do you think of this latest AG news? Will you try to get some of the micro mini dolls?

American Girl of the Year Friend 2009 - Sonali Matthews

The weather is soo lovely Saleen had to take a little time to appreciate all the beauty around her. I love my new girl soo much! I'm already creating her world. I plan to make her a portable room complete with bed, accessories and other furniture pieces for photo shoots/stories. I would love for her to have a permanent room but I still have 8 other dolls that have to share space with her on my doll shelf. 

Saleen's blog even has it's first post up but I'm not ready to share it yet. LOL I think I'll share next week once I get another post or two up. I was trying to figure out how to actually do both this blog and her blog. I figured her blog will be pure photo story type ramblings instead of daily photos and other doll ramblings like here, that way her blog will have it's own unique stuff instead of repeat stuff from here. I think it'll balance out that way. I'm already working on her next post creating this is all so exciting.

Oh yeah, I'm thinking about making her an Instagram of her own to post photos from her blog. I think it'll make her world seem more real. ^^; I guess it really took the right doll for me to finally be able to create a blog in the girls voices since they will be making guest appearances.

I had to take my new girl out for Earth Day. Look she's even wearing a "I Love Nature" shirt on in honor of Earth Day. (^_^) I'm still in awe she's here and mine! I know it's only been a day since I introduced her but it feels so unreal. ^^; Have you ever felt this way about a doll(s) before? Are you doing anything special to celebrate Earth Day?

In other words, expect the unexpected. I had planned on getting a new, handpicked by myself doll or two direct from AG but that changed a wee bit. ^^ Believe me when I say this was an intense process. LOL 

So without further ado, say hey to Saleen (pronounced like Celine), formerly known as Sonali Matthews!

Quite a curve ball from what you all were expecting, yes? I know you were expecting #58 and possibly Rebecca, so was I! I never in a million years would have thought I'd be the owner of this absolutely gorgeous girl! I'm soooo EXTREMELY happy. 

After seeing soo many photos of Sonali and her beautiful chocolate skin with long dark hair, I was to the point of creating my own Not!Sonali using a re-wigged #47. I was actually going to pick up #47 from AGPLA this month because let's be honest, Sonali's secondary market prices can almost be as bad as Kanani or McKenna's. But when I happened across this beauty on eBay and I knew she was mine. It was the LONGEST 6 days waiting for her auction to end but when it did and I was the winner... I was beyond happy! I can't even explain how estatic I am about this girl.

It's without a doubt, I'm super happy because my collection is COMPLETE! (For now... I think... LOL... Don't judge me. ^^) It feels good knowing I'm finished in terms of adding new girls. Now I focus on other things, like the blog I spoke about not having the doll yet but her whole world has already come together. Yep, Saleen has a blog all her own. Don't worry though, the other girls will pop in from time to time. ^^

This was why I've been silent for the last week. Didn't want to spill the beans! I'm sooo happy right now!

So I was still taking photos but it's just been soooo warm out. We've been in the 90s since the weekend and it's not even Summer yet. Looks like it's gearing up to be a scorcher which means we'll be in the 100s!

Indoor Photography Again

American Girl of the Year 2006 - Jess McConnell

Kalea helped me work on my indoor photography this afternoon. Let me just say it went a lot better than the first time I attempted to take photos inside my dark house. LOL It appears my bedroom provides amazing natural light plus I added a white foam board to bounce the light off. I also used my 75-300mm zoom lens with this photo to avoid shadows appearing from her or me. It gives me hope that once I start the new blog for my special girl, her photos will turn out alright. LOL I think I may do this with all the girls for my new banner once the new girl(s) arrive because it'll give the photos uniformity. I don't know yet since I do like to take photos outside but it worked out really well today. :o)

BTW, do you see it? Her beautiful burgundy highlights are showing big time in this photo. I love this photo!

Maisie is such a sweetheart! She is the easiest of all my girls to care for. Her hair is so carefree and yes it may be short for those who like to do hair. Seeing as I have Nevaeh (with the longest hair any AG has had) plus with Hope, Kalea, Kennedy and Ocean having beautiful long hair to style... Maisie is a dream! :0)

I'm currently working my upcoming release and I wanted to here what you all would like to see made. Also what are so of your favorite colors and prints you like to see on your dolls? Just getting a feeling for what everyone likes. (^_^)
