Skater Girl

American Girl of the Year 2005 - Marisol Luna

Hope had a really fun time on her skateboard. I think I may need to get a second one for Aoki and 2 pairs of roller skates for Kennedy and Ocean, that way the girls can have a skate party. (^_^) Even though it's still Winter here, we had been experiencing a heat wave and it would be perfect time for the girls to have an outdoor party.

Skateboarding Anyone?

American Girl of the Year 2005 - Marisol Luna
Here's another photo from the shoot I had with Hope yesterday. Hope is very outdoorsy and loves to skateboard as well as climb trees. She's my little tomboy princess because she cleans up very well. (^_^) I think I'll actually make this shoot into a video for YT sometime this weekend... well I'll try too anyway. XP Oh yeah, I almost forgot! Hope is wearing the fingerless gloves I knitted earlier this month and of course I crochet the hat to match the gloves. I haven't tried to knit a hat yet but I need to find a pattern I like.

Sunset ☀

American Girl of the Year 2005 - Marisol Luna
I had a photo shoot with Hope today. I really like how this photo turned out and I'm happy I was able to get some great photos of her. I have yet to post super photos because I feel like she's kind of fragile. Her right eye has retracting eyelashes and she needs a trip to the the doll hospital to get it fixed. I'm afraid it may get stuck and I would be heartbroken. My plan is to take her to AGPLA and have her admitted in February. I was told this is a defect on AGs part so getting her eyes repaired should be free. I'm not looking for a completely new head, just getting a new set of eyes.

Has anyone used the AG doll hospital before? What was your experience like?

New Friendship!

American Girl Mini GoTY Saige & Isabelle Dolls
Mini Saige would like everyone to meet her new friend mini Isabelle, who we call Izzy. Izzy arrived on Friday and took a little day trip with us to Six Flags Magic Mountain. Izzy and Saige had a lot of time exploring the huge amusement park and taking photos. They had a lot of fun!

**Sidenote** I think I will have to fix Izzy's eye because it is slightly wonky. 0.o Her hair is super soft and reminds me of mini Julie's hair.

I ♥ Boots!

It's true! Actually, I love collecting all types of shoes for my girls. Before Kennedy ever arrived I had already purchased her boots because I think they are amazing! I'm always on the lookout for cute shoes for them. With 7 girls and 14 feet, we could never have enough shoes or boots. \(^_^)/

Always Got Your Back

American Girl Doll #49 & GoTY Saige Copeland
It's always nice to have someone that will always have your back in good times and bad. Kennedy and Ocean have definitely become inseparable.

BFFs!

American Girl Doll #49 & GoTY Saige Copeland
Here's another photo from the shoot I had with Kennedy and Ocean. This was the first time where I was able to actually photograph more than one doll successfully. I've never really been able to photograph more than one doll at a time due to not knowing how to really do it where it didn't look someone was out of place. I pretty happy with how this photo shoot turned out. \(^_^)/

♥ Kiele ♥

American Girl Doll Cecile Rey Custom
It's been quite a long time since Kiele has seen time in front of the camera. I think it was due to me still deciding if I want to re-wig or not. After taking photos of her today I'm having mixed feelings because she looks really beautiful with her current wig but it's not in the best condition. I mean there are short hairs where there shouldn't be any. I guess her previous owner thought they were hair stylists and unfortunately they weren't any not good at it. I was able to salvage her wig as best I can but I don't know I think she's due for a new wig. Decisions, decisions...

Exotic Beauty

American Girl Doll MyAG #49

Doesn't Ocean look lovely with a flower in her hair? She looks so exotic! I can't suggest enough how beautiful this doll is in person.

True Friendship is Priceless

American Girl Doll MyAG #49 and GoTY 2013 Saige Copeland
Kennedy and Ocean are becoming quick friends. These two beauties are truly unique and I'm happy they are part of my doll family.

These girls are very special to me. All my girls are special of course but these 2 are extra special. Ocean because she was a unexpected surprise present from my hubby and Kennedy because she also was an unexpected surprise but to myself. LOL Okay let me explain, I had seen Saige all last year and wasn't really thinking about adding her to my collection. I'd seen photos of her and thought she was cute but it really didn't sink in how gorgeous she really was until I took my own photos of her. I was struck by lightening and became totally smitten with her when my daughter allowed me to take my own photo of her with Ocean. I knew right then and there she had to come and join my own doll family. I'm so happy, it's beyond measure!

It Feels Like Spring!

American Girl of the Year 2013 Saige Copeland
It was really warm today. I think we were in the low 80's even though it's the middle of Winter in January.  It's still quite breezy Kennedy kept trying to fall over but I was able to capture this photo before I had to give up from lack of frustration. We are under a red flag warning until I think 8pm tonight so hopefully the winds will go away. I won't hold my breath though. LOL

Hope everyone has a wonderful 3 day weekend!

Love!

American Girl of the Year 2013 - Saige Copeland

Kennedy is settling right in with the rest of my girls. She definitely brings more uniqueness to my group of girls and I'm so glad I was able to add her to my family. (^_^)

Looking at my group of girls, I need to add one more and my collection will be complete. I've already talked about switching Aoki from MyAG #30 to GoTY Jess which I plan to do but I feel like someone is missing from my group of girls. So what does that mean? It means GoTY 2014 Isabelle Palmer will be coming to live here as well. I would really love to go to AGPLA and pick her out myself but if I have too I'll order her online. Once she and Jess arrive I'll be completely content with my collection. Until then I'm going to enjoy the ones who are already here because they are amazing and I love them all soo much!

Perfect Kennedy

American Girl of the Year 2013 Saige Copeland
I couldn't wait for the crazy winds to go away so I braved them and got a few photos of Kennedy. I really can't wait to take her out. I"m soo happy to have her here in my own collection. Yes there are now Saige's but she is mine. :)

In other news, I plan to re-wig Kiele because I want her to have black hair to bring out her eyes. I believe that's the main reason why I haven't photographed her in quite sometime. I've tried but I just wasn't liking the results at all. So I know it's time for a change for her. Plus I was still undecided on if I should change her wig or not. I've decided it's time to change her wig. (^_^) Also, I do plan to replace #30 with GoTY Jess because my oldest daughter wants #30 and I want Jess, so it's a win win situation. :-) So Aoki will be GoTY Jess after all. Lastly, I think it's time to update my banner. It's a little outdated. LOL

Hello Kennedy!

American Girl of the Year 2013 Saige Copeland

She's here! She's here! Kennedy has finally arrived after taking a mini vacay up North. All my fears and frustrations were instantly gone once I removed Kennedy from her box. Yes I was able to get her with her box, earrings and hairnet plus shipping for less than retail and way less than the crazy, ridiculous secondary market. Unfortunately it was way too windy today for me to take photos of her but as soon as the crazy winds leave, I'll do a full photo shoot of this beautiful girl. I'm over the moon for Kennedy!

Happy Monday!

American Girl Doll MyAG #49

Ocean wishes everyone a wonderful week! We are still awaiting the arrival of our newest "sister", she still hasn't moved since Friday and it's real disheartening. I really hope she shows up soon.

♥ Beautiful Blue Eyes ♥

American Girl Doll MyAG #49

Ocean has such beautiful eyes that I wanted to capture how gorgeous her blue eyes truly are.  A lot of people have expressed interest in my girl and I wholeheartedly recommend her to all who are on the fence about this beauty. Her combination of hair, eye and skintone are such a gorgeous and unique mix, she would be a great addition to any collection.

It's a Beautiful Day!

American Girl Doll MyAG #49
Despite being a little sad because my new girl seems to be lost in postal limbo, it's still a beautiful day. She was shipped priority mail on Wednesday and scheduled for delivery yesterday. She's currently sitting 8 hours away from me in the same state but hasn't updated and wasn't delivered today. Hopefully she'll be here on Monday.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.

Her Friend Bubbles!

American Girl Of the Year 2011 Kanani Akina
Nevaeh wanted to show everyone her new friend, Bubbles. (^_^) See how perfectly sized they are for my girls. I made another one in a pink but I'm waiting for my new crochet hook to arrive. Used my eBay bucks and only paid $0.85  including shipping,  a lot cheaper than driving to Michaels or Joanns and using either a 40% or 50% coupon. The next stuffed toys will be made with a smaller yarn and hook, so I'll see if it changes the scale too much for my liking. Stay tuned for those photos.

Fun!

Isn't it a cute mini amigurumi squid? Above is one of the little stuffed toys I made for my AGs. They are the perfect sized toys for AGs and can be personalized in any color under the sun. I had so much fun making this cutie. I can't wait to make more plus other stuffed toys for AGs, guess it's time to buy some more yarn. :)

** Collection Update**  My girls have been reduced to 6 until the new girl arrives, then it'll be 7. Seven is a good number and supposedly it's considered lucky, so I'll keep my girls at that number for awhile. Oh there will be one more change but it won't affect the number of dolls I have because she'll be replacing another doll and that doll will be going to my daughter. (^_^) I know it's a lot to take in but it'll all make sense once it happens.

My Nature Girl

American Girl Doll Ruthie Smithens
Today was a better day and by tomorrow I will back to normal. Yay! I made up some cute little pets for my AGs and I'll definitely post those tomorrow, they are the perfect size stuffed animals. Also I found new homes for a couple of my girls. Okay they aren't really going anywhere but into the next room. LOL My teenage daughter is now the happy owner of quite a few of my girls. I couldn't bare to part with them but I was overwhelmed by my collection and she was super excited to add to her own collection. So for now my collection is down to 8 girls a comfortable level for me. (^_^) Hope everyone had a good day!

Happy Sunday!

American Girl Doll Ruthie Smithens
Today was a better day. I was able to sleep in thanks to my teenage daughter getting her younger siblings breakfast and playing Minecraft with them on the PS3. They have spent soo many hours playing that game. I don't get it but they like it. (^_^) She is amazing! Hope you all had a wonderful Sunday and for those returning to school/work this week. I hope you had an amazing holiday. My children still have 1 more week before their Winter vacation is over. We're going to make the best of it. My DD and I plan to make our first AG stop motion video this week... I'm soo terrified. LOL

On a sidenote, I'm really going to make some changes in my current girls of who will stay and who will go... decisions, decisions!

Enjoy the moment!

American Girl Doll Ruthie Smiten
I had grand plans for today but it all went out the window when I woke up sick. I finally caught whatever it is all my kids have shared with each other. I dislike being sick but with 5 kids it's inevitable so I can't take photos of the new handknits PLUS I can't start on the new knit items I wanted to try. Boo! LOL Hopefully by tomorrow I'll be able to function better than today. In the meantime, enjoy this photo of Dylan appreciating a beautiful sunny day.

♥ Dylan ♥ plus Old Craft Revisited

♥ Dylan ♥ by Among the Dolls
American Girl Doll Ruthie Smithens
Isn't she a cutie pie? I really like Ruthie as a modern doll instead of historical. I guess I'm not really a historical collector and believe me I've tried a few times but they almost always become modern. There is still one historical girl I would like to add to my collection... yep, Rebecca Rubin! But you already know once she arrives she will instantly be transported to 2014 instead of staying in 1914. I already have her name chosen as her name and personality. All I need now is the doll. LOL

On a creative note! I KNIT some fingerless mitts! Okay one hand is done but I still need to finish the other hand tonight so I can post a photo tomorrow. I'm so excited because I'm normally a crocheter but wanted to try something different this year plus after seeing GOTY Isabelle's fingerless gloves and knowing I wasn't going to be purchasing her accessories since everything has her name on it, really motivated me to give knitting a try again. So I talked to my mom about it because she's the knitter. She was able to help me and now I'm addicted! :) I can't believe I was intimidated by knitting all these years. I mean I've been able to make simple things like scarves and such but today I broke out the double point needles. Once I got the hang of it, I was off and running. I have just opened up a new door for my creativity.

Today was wonderful! How was your day? Did you discover anything new or try a new skill?

Welcome Girl of the Year 2014, Isabelle Palmer!

With the new year, American Girl introduces the new Girl of the Year on their website and in-stores. The Girl of the Year for 2014 is Isabelle Palmer.

I will admit I wasn't to enthusiastic about Isabelle but she has definitely grown on me. I plan to get her sometime before May... well at least order her in time for my birthday at the end of the May. (^_^)

I think what made me finally decide to get he is the uniqueness of her hair. Yes she has blonde hair but do you see the pink? Look closely! Yea, those pink tips and her gold meet shoes have sold me on purchasing Isabelle. Plus here are few of the other items from her collection I like.

I love her Performance Set! I think she and Hope would have a great time performing together. Nevaeh may even get in on the act. (^_^)

I think the piece of her collection I love the most is Isabelle's Studio. OMG... Look their is a sewing machine and dress form! Now while this piece is amazing, my wallet isn't all to eager to pay $275. Yes girls, this piece of her collection is $275. Yikes! Good thing I don't have any space for it otherwise I would ask my wonderful hubby to purchase it for as a Christmas/Anniversary present for this year. LOL

Isabelle's collection features mix and match pieces to make 20 different outfits of your own but I really like this outfit!I already see potential in mixing and matching all the pieces of her mix and match collection to create my own unique ballet wardrobe for Isabelle and Hope. Be aware ballet slippers are NOT included with any of the mix and match outfits  and you can't purchase them separately from AG. Ballet slippers are only available with the Performance Outfit, Isabelle's Dance Barre and Isabelle's Dance Case or the MyAG Ballet Outfit.

American Girl also introduced a few new pieces for MyAGs. Isn't the Pretty Pink Outfit for Dolls so cute?! It's perfect for the upcoming Valentine's/Spring season.

They also introduced the Friends Are Sweet Set. Doesn't it look like the girls could tons of fun?!

Look at the new MyAG Canvas Shoes, aren't they cute? I will definitely pick a pair or two for my girls to wear. I'm a sucker for cute shoes!

Be sure to check out all the new stuff American Girl has introduced for the New Year and let me know what you think of the the new Girl of the Year 2014, Isabelle Palmer. What are your favorites from Isabelle's collection? Do you plan on getting her?

Happy New Year!

New Year, new borders, new girl. ☺
Meet Dylan!
(Formerly know as American Girl Doll Ruthie Smithens)

It felt awkward this morning to not add ADAD to my post and tags. I did it for the past year but now it's time for me to try something new.... YouTube! I'm still posting my photos on instagram of course. I'm able to post all my photos from my shoots in one day if I so choose too. For instance I have 3 other photos I plan to share from this shoot. I mean I took a lot of photos but I only really like 4 of them. I have to change my mind set and start working on actually shoots and stop motions to add to YouTube. It's very liberating but also very new to me, so bare with me as I make the transition. 2014 promises to be a amazing year!

Happy New Year!
