Doll Photography Postcards
Postcards I made during Zazzle's Christmas in July sale. I was curious to see what they would like like and I ♥ them! The process is really easy and I'm super happy how they turned out. I'll definitely use Zazzle again.

Reconstructing Amera
On Thursday #28 arrived while I was out with family celebrating my nephew's birthday. She was in better condition than I expected.
As you can see she was in need of a wee bit of TLC. She's already had the black spot removed from her face and her hair has also undergone treatment. Amera (#28) is such a beautiful doll and I'm glad I rescued her. I do need to decide what to do with her eyelashes but for now they'll remain. I ♥ #28!
On a sad doll note, it looks like AG Elizabeth from eBay will NOT be joining me after all. I paid the seller but haven't heard ANYTHING from them. No shipping notice, response to my emails/messages, nothing. I guess this is what I get for using a new seller. I wanted to give the seller benefit of a doubt but I can't because they aren't even communicating with me but still listing new auctions. So if the doll doesn't show up within the estimated time, I'll file a complaint with eBay. I'm really bummed out about this and hoping my doll will show up unannounced.

Dollie Diet Over... Plus New Camera!!
So excited because eBay happened to be a treasure trove of sorts for me this week! It was perfect timing for me to find some new to me girls to add to my American Girl Doll collection. Not only will MyAG #28 come home by the end of this week, she's also going to bring 2 other girls with her! Okay, they are coming from 3 different places but 3 new girls will be arriving starting this weekend. :D
I won MyAG #28 on Sunday. She's a TLC fixer upper but she was a fantastic price, so worth the extra elbow grease. Looks like it's time to get more Oxy-10 and Magic Erasers to clean this girl up. After initial clean up, she'll need her eyelashes repaired as they've been cut. Also I'm not exactly sure if she'll need a new wig or if the one she has is salvageable. It doesn't look cut but does look thin and VERY dry. Guess I'll see once she arrives.
The second girl, also acquired on Sunday, is AG Elizabeth in serious TLC condition but again the price was right making the needed repairs worth it. She needs her right leg reattached as well as a good scrub AND a new wig (the back of her head is bald). I don't think I'll re-wig her with a blonde wig though. Still uncertain on wig color/style for her. Elizabeth has such beautiful blue eyes that I want them to stand out. So I'm leaning toward maybe a darker wig to achieve the look I'm after. :) Of course once she's completed, she'll be fka (formerly known as) Elizabeth. New name to go with her new lease on life. :)
And the last girl was an early morning eBay acquisition and she's a MyAG #31. Out of all the dolls coming, she's in the best condition. From what I can see in the photos she doesn't have shiny/rub marks/stains, all her limbs are attached and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with her with the exception of her wig. It looks full and perfect but extremely dry. She appears to be in EUC and her price was right along the lines of the TLC girls. I wonder if the seller lowered the price because she wasn't selling which is sad, she's a beautiful girl. Whatever the reasoning she was meant to come live with me. :)
I know these 3 girls weren't on my original wishlist but I think it's because I didn't really know who I wanted to add. LOL I thought I needed to have at least one of each face mold offered by AG in my collection but I'm not really a fan of the Kaya, Jess or Sonali face molds. They are just not my cup of tea. I found I really like the Josefina mold a lot with it's versatility. :) I also wanted to add another Addy face mold but with darker skin and straight hair without bangs (I don't really care for bangs) since I already have #26, a curly hair girl with medium skin. So I was happy I happened across MyAG #31. Some AG collectors like the classic face mold while others like the Jess face mold but I like the Josefina face mold. :)
On a non-dollie note, I also won a Holga 120s! :D Yes, the cult icon 120mm plastic toy film camera. I know in this day and age everyone is for instant gratification (a.k.a. digital) I'm quite guilty of this myself, using my cell phone for A LOT of photos BUT I want to take a step back and actually work with... film! *gasp* Yes film still exists. Not only do I want to shoot using film but also want to learn to develop my own negatives and prints. :) I plan to work mainly in traditional black & white film though. I know people will wonder why get a plastic camera when you can get a "real" medium format camera for just a bit more. I'm of the mindset that it's not so much the camera as it is the photographer who creates beautiful photographs and your camera is just your tool to help achieve photographic success. Plus I want the simplicity and just have fun. :D
Here a couple of non-doll related digital photos that I'm really proud of.
Now to wait for my packages. Looking forward to quite a few happy mail days! :)

It's Official!!!
How's that for a post title?! :P
Anywho, I've finally decided on which 18" American Girl Doll I'll be getting next. Funny thing is this girl wasn't even in my original list of wants. LOL BUT I really, really ♥ the look of MyAG #28, so she's who I'm going to get. :) I'm going on a dollie diet until I can bring her home. No new girls for this girl unless it's MyAG #28. I would ♥ the experience of picking out my new AG from the AGP-LA but I don't know if it's really an option unless I go on my hubby's day off AFTER the kids return to school on 8/7. Only problem with that is I don't want to wait until then to get my girl when I could order her online and receive her before then. I've also looked on eBay which would be another option for bringing my girl home sooner than later. Who else suffers the have to have it now syndrome once you're mind is made up? It's all consuming and I won't rest until I bring her home. LOL Keeping my fingers crossed to bringing her home before the kids go back to school on 8/7. :-D
On a sidenote, I'm working on the girl's dossiers and hope to solidify their personalities/relationships. I do know once #28 arrives, she and Alyssa (PM Josefina) will be sisters. Alyssa will be the older sister to #28 (name chosen but won't be revealed until she arrives ;-) ). Also Alanna (#26), #28 and Alyssa are cousins. Willow (#4) and Renee (PM Felicity) are #28's best friends. Coolness factor?! They will all attended the same all girl's academy... I think. :) Guess I better get to making the school uniforms. I have a little time since their school won't start until Sept. ;) Guess it's time to plan the girl's own blog... finally! LOL

American Girl Doll Wishlist
My post about my Debating on a New Girl! has me rethinking my 18" American Girl Doll collection on which dolls I'd like to add in the future. I really did think I was done and happy with my 4 girls... PM #4, #26, PM Felicity and PM Josefina BUT there are a couple more girls I wouldn't mind joining the family. :)
At first I thought I'd need to purchase Historical girls to get the look I wanted but I'm not really a Historical collector and would be purchasing the doll for the doll and wouldn't want their clothing, accessories, etc. Which I think would be a total waste since all my girls are modern... Josefina has been rewigged and is now Alyssa and Felicity also rewigged and she's Renee.
With a little reserach I was able to find the face molds of the AGs I'm after with corresponding JLY numbers! I'm so excited I found the list and I will be able to add to my collection without worrying about them being Historical and making them modern. These are the three AGs, #40 , #47 and #53, who are now on my wishlist to purchase. :) First girl to get is #53, plan to get her as soon as possible... hopefully soonish. LOL
Oh on a sidenote, I passed on Mini AG Molly, won Mini AG Rebecca and pre-ordered Mini AG Saige from Amazon. I just ♥ her boots! See like that I went from none to 2! ;)

Debating on a New Girl!
I told myself I wouldn't catch the bug and collect Mini American Girl Dolls but I think I may have finally caved in because I contacted a seller on AGPT abouta Mini AG Molly and waiting to her back from her. :) Ack, I also bid on an Mini AG Rebecca but not exactly sure if I'll win her. There's a little less than a day left on her but I'll keep my fingers crossed. :) I would ♥ to get an 18" version or even a #53 some day.
Here's my thing with Mini AGs, I came to the conclusion that if I purchase one, she can't be the only Mini AG here so there are a couple more girls I'll have to purchase so she isn't alone. ;) Oh you want to know which are the lucky girls? Here they are in no particular order: Emily, Kit, Cécile, Josefina, Ivy, Caroline and Julie. See why I didn't want to get bit by the Mini AG bug? I went from none to wanting 8!
I figure Mini American Girl Dolls would be a lot easier to take along on family adventures than their 18" counterparts. The 18" girls don't travel at all, they're my non travel dolls. Too afraid someone might mess up my dolls. :( So getting 6.5" Mini AGs are a natural choice as travel companions without the added worry, plus I think people find me weird when I pull out my dolls and take photos. My MIL took a jab at me one day talking about them being my imaginary friends. But I don't care plus my hubby is super amazing when it comes to me and taking my dolls along with us and pohotgraphing them. He offers photo shoot/setting ideas and I even have photos of him holding various dolls in public but he'd get mad if i posted those. LOL
Decisions... decisions!

Something Sweet!
How's that for an enticing post title? ;)
Anywho, I woke up this morning wanting to make some lollipops and set forth at 6:30am looking for my hard candy molds because I knew I have 2 of them, one a 1.5" round and the other a heart. I looked with my other baking supplies and I found my chocolate candy molds but not my hard candy molds. I was really upset because I want to make lollipops and I really didn't want to have to order them when I already knew I have some here. I gave up once I couldn't find them after searching everywhere my mind could think they could be.
So I started pricing them and with shipping costing more than the mold themselves, I was determined to find my molds. :P A little over a half an hour ago, I go back to look for my molds one last time, lo and behold my persistence paid off because I found my molds but instead of finding two molds I found 3! Two 1.5" rounds and one heart mold. LOL So happy! Tomorrow morning I will be able to make my lollipops before it gets to hot.
Here are some I made last year. They are a mix of circles and hearts in strawberry kiwi flavor. So excited!
